About Marjorie Taylor

Marjorie combines her passion for creating art, and love of travel, with her curiosity about different cultures. That is why you may find her riding camels in the Sahara Desert, painting in fields of lavender and sunflowers in the South of France, or teaching art at a foster home in Mexico. Painting en plein air enables Marjorie to capture the atmosphere of a place, and brings authenticity to her work. When painting in the studio, she approaches the blank canvas with the same immediacy and spontaneity found in her plein air paintings. Marjorie Taylor graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, and spent the early years of her career as a graphic designer/illustrator, until she began to pursue her career as a Fine Artist. Marjorie studied oil painting under Lela Harty and has taken workshops with Kim English, George Strickland, John Asaro, Jove Wang, Carolyn Anderson, John Budicin, Ray Roberts, Mark Daily and Ned Mueller. Marjorie lives in San Diego with her husband and their two dogs.
