The Artist

When she is not traveling through Europe, Central America or North Africa, with pochade box and oil paints in her backpack, Marjorie Taylor can be found painting in her new studio on Ray Street, in North Park San Diego’s Art & Culture District.

Marjorie combines her love of painting with her passion for travel and exploration. Painting en plein air enables enables Marjorie to capture the atmosphere of a place, and brings authenticity to her work. When painting in the studio, she approaches the blank canvas with the same immediacy and spontaneity found in her plein air paintings.

Marjorie Taylor graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, and spent 14 years as a graphic designer/illustrator, until she began to pursue her career as a Fine Artist. Marjorie studied oil painting under Lela Harty and has taken workshops with Kim English, George Strickland, John Asaro, Jove Wang, Carolyn Anderson, John Budicin, Ray Roberts, Mark Daily and Ned Mueller.
